PHP Web Developer

Role summary

We are looking for a skilled PHP Web Developer with 3 years of hands-on experience to join our growing team at Softosist. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining web applications, collaborating with the design and backend teams, and contributing to our SaaS products.

Responsibilities

• Develop, test, and maintain scalable web applications using PHP and MySQL
• Build and customize CMS-based websites (WordPress, Laravel)
• Write clean, well-documented, reusable code following best practices
• Collaborate with frontend developers to integrate UI components
• Optimize applications for performance, speed, and scalability
• Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing systems
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to technical documentation
• Coordinate with team members using version control (Git)

Required skills

• 3 years of professional experience in PHP development
• Good knowledge on prompt generation and vs code ai agents
• Strong proficiency in Core PHP and at least one framework — Laravel or CodeIgniter
• Good understanding of MySQL / relational database design
• Experience with HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (jQuery / vanilla JS)
• Familiarity with REST APIs — building and consuming
• Version control with Git
• Basic understanding of Linux/server environments
• Experience with WordPress theme/plugin development is a plus

Good to have

• Exposure to Electron.js or desktop app packaging
• Knowledge of Vue.js or any modern JS framework
• Experience with payment gateway integrations
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Cloudflare, etc.)

Education

• B.E. / B.Tech / BCA / MCA in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent practical experience)
